While water is commonly recommended for moisturization, it falls short compared to the denseness and stickiness of Kapha. The creation of Kapha within the body requires proper digestion of food, incorporating both solid and liquid elements. Simply increasing liquid intake cannot fulfill the demand. A balanced intake of solid foods is necessary to generate high-quality Kapha, which effectively lubricates the body's passages, organs, and joints. Kapha, Pitta and Vata: A Balancing Act Kapha's innate coldness balances the heat of Pitta Dosha. When the body experiences an increase in heat, such as elevated Pitta, it can lead to cell destruction and tissue damage. Effects of Increased and Decreased Kapha An increase in Kapha corresponds to a decrease in Pitta and Vata. Signs of increased Kapha include decreased hunger, disturbed digestion, excess salivation, heaviness of the body, whitish discoloration of nails, urine, stools, and skin, feelings of coldness, increased body fats, and respiratory issues. Conversely, reduced Kapha leads to increased Vata, resulting in dizziness, confusion, palpitations, dryness of the body, and heightened body heat.
